Cornell Participation

Cornell University will send 24 faculty, research, staff, and student delegates to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change's Sixteenth Conference of Parties (COP 16) in Cancun, Mexico, Nov. 29 - Dec. 10, 2010. (Media Release)

Cornell's delegation is organized around three major efforts:

• Sustainable Agriculture and Terrestrial C Management: Research and Best Practices to inform Climate Policy: Prof. Johannes Lehmann (CSS) with Thea Whitman, Michael Walsh, Sam Bosco, and Amy Hetherington (event flier)
• Can Agricultural Carbon Offsets Lower the Costs of Cap-and-Trade Programs? Opportunities and Challenges: Prof. Antonio Bento (AEM) with Ben Leard, Youcef Msaid, and Joel Landry
