Drs. Francis Vanek (Senior Lecturer, Civil & Environmental Engineering) and Louis Albright (Professor, Biological and Environmental Engineering), have published a textbook entitled Energy Systems Engineering: Evaluation and Implementation (McGraw-Hill, May 2008).

Based on two Cornell courses, "Future Energy Systems" and "Renewable Energy Systems", the book takes a systems approach to energy technologies, including technical, environmental, and economic considerations, and covers all three major types of energy sources -- fossil, nuclear, and renewable. There are 75 worked examples and over 200 figures, tables, and illustrations throughout the book, and, for instructors, there is an extensive teacher's suite including manual, spreadsheet solutions, and powerpoint shows available from the publisher's website.

Available at Amazon, www.mhprofessional.com (discount code: VSE), or the Cornell Bookstore.
