Meeting the nutritional needs of all those living today without compromising the wellbeing of future generations requires holistic thinking about the interconnected systems of agriculture, aquaculture, wild food harvest, and their home ecosystems. The future of food production and distribution will require sustainable practices that decrease water, carbon, and waste footprints; protect biodiversity on land and sea; improve the efficiency of water, energy, transportation, and waste management systems; and enhance the quality of life of those producing the food. Cornell Atkinson is bringing together Cornell’s core strengths in these areas with like-minded external partners to contribute to long-term, large-scale progress, one solution at a time.
